Herbal First Aid Workshop
Saturday, September 12th, 2026
10:00 AM–3:00 PM
Bentonville, Virginia
Spend the day with me here at The Honeystead learning how to build a simple, useful herbal first aid kit for your home.
This is a hands-on workshop centered around the herbs and remedies I personally like to keep close for the everyday things that come up—little cuts and scrapes, bug bites, bumps, burns, irritated skin, seasonal discomforts, and those moments when you want to reach for something simple from your home apothecary.
We’ll spend time together in the garden, talk through the herbs growing around us, harvest some of them together, and then head back inside to turn what we’ve gathered into useful herbal preparations.
No experience is needed. Just come curious and ready to learn.
What We’ll Spend the Day Learning
During the workshop, we’ll talk about:
- Herbs traditionally used for common first aid needs
- How to identify and harvest herbs from the garden
- What I like to keep in my own herbal first aid kit
- Simple herbal preparations you can make at home
- How and when I reach for different preparations
- How to begin building a home apothecary without feeling overwhelmed
- Other practical items worth keeping alongside your herbs
And most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to actually make and work with the remedies yourself.
I want you to leave feeling more comfortable looking at the herbs around you and knowing, I know what I can do with that.
From the Garden to Your Home Apothecary
One of my favorite parts of herbalism is realizing that so much of what we need can begin right outside our own back door.
There is something completely different about harvesting an herb with your own hands, learning about it while it is growing in front of you, and then turning it into something you can take home and use.
That is what I want this day to feel like.
Not simply sitting and listening to a class, but walking through the garden, asking questions, getting your hands into the herbs, and learning in a way that feels practical and approachable.
This Workshop Is For You If...
You’ve wanted to learn more about herbal medicine but haven’t known where to begin.
Maybe you already have jars of herbs tucked into your pantry and want to feel more confident using them.
Or maybe you simply want to become a little more prepared to care for yourself and your family using the plants growing around you.
You do not need to be an herbalist.
You do not need a huge apothecary.
You do not need any previous experience.
Come as you are.

A Day at The Honeystead
These workshops are intentionally kept hands-on and personal.
My hope is that you leave with more than a few recipes written in a notebook. I want you to leave understanding the herbs a little better, knowing how to work with them, and feeling inspired to continue building your own home apothecary.
Come spend the day in the garden with me.
We’ll harvest, make remedies, ask plenty of questions, and enjoy a day learning together.
