Winter Herbal Workshop In-Person

Step into the warmth of the apothecary this winter and spend the day with me learning how to care for yourself and your family through the colder months using herbs, food, and simple remedies you can make at home.

Winter is one of my favorite times to really lean into the home apothecary. It’s the season for jars of herbs on the shelf, something warm steeping in a mug, nourishing foods simmering on the stove, and knowing what to reach for when someone in the house isn’t feeling their best.

That’s what this workshop is all about.

What We’ll Spend the Day Learning

Throughout the day, we’ll work together to create traditional herbal preparations while talking about why we use them, when we reach for them, and how you can continue making them at home.

We’ll explore:

• Making traditional fire cider from scratch
• Blending herbal teas for the winter months
• Herbs traditionally used during cold and flu season
• Working with herbs like ginger, elderberry, chamomile, and more
• Simple ways to support the body with warming and nourishing herbs
• How to choose herbs based on what you and your family need
• Building a practical winter home apothecary
• How to confidently prepare and use your remedies at home

And, of course, this is a hands-on workshop. You won’t simply watch me make these preparations—you’ll be making them right alongside me.

More Than Just Following a Recipe

One of the things I really want to teach through these workshops is how to understand the herbs you’re working with.

It’s easy to follow a recipe.

But when you begin understanding why an herb is included, what it traditionally supports, and how you can work with it in different ways, your home apothecary starts becoming something you actually know how to use.

My hope is that you leave feeling more confident reaching for your herbs when your family needs a little extra care.

You’ll Take Your Remedies Home

Everything we make together is meant to continue supporting you long after our day together is over.

You’ll head home with the preparations you create during the workshop, along with the knowledge and recipes you need to continue making and using them throughout the winter season.

There’s something pretty special about opening your cabinet in the middle of winter and seeing something you made with your own hands waiting there.

No Experience Needed

Whether you already have an apothecary filled with jars or you’re just beginning to learn about herbs, you are welcome.

You don’t need to know all the herbs.

You don’t need to have made remedies before.

Just come ready to learn, make something with your hands, ask questions, and spend a winter day surrounded by herbs and good company.

Come Spend a Winter Day at The Honeystead

Slow down for a day before we settle into the heart of winter.

We’ll gather in the apothecary, put the kettle on, work with herbs, make remedies, and talk about simple ways we can better care for ourselves and our families throughout the season.

You’ll leave with remedies in your hands, recipes to use again and again, and hopefully a little more confidence in your own home apothecary.
